Famous for her oil paintings featuring women and children, this one represents Mary Cassatt’s sister Lydia participating in the social ritual of tea drinking. Criticized heavily due to the use of the unfinished canvas as part of the image, the painting is done in Cassatt’s early Impressionist style and exemplifies her skillful use of color. From to she was the Hon. Treasurer of the Reynolds Club (the R.A. Schools Old Students Society) and was elected Chairman. She lectured widely on the “History and Work of the Royal Academy” and on George Stubbs. Her book “Mr. Stubbs the Horse Painter” was published in Seller Rating: % positive. From to she was the Hon. George Stubbs: ‘all done from Nature’ presents the first significant overview of this renowned eighteenth century exhibition of oil paintings by George Stubbs book in Britain for more than 30 years. The exhibition brings together 80 paintings, drawings and publications from the National Gallery’s life-size portrait of the stallion Whistlejacket to pieces never previously.

George Stubbs ARA (25 August – 10 July ) was an English painter, best known for his paintings of horses. Self-trained, Stubbs learnt his skills independently from other great artists of the eighteenth century such as Reynolds or ' output includes history paintings, but his greatest skill was in painting animals, perhaps influenced by his love and study of : 25 AugustLiverpool, Lancashire.

Organized by the Kimbell Art Museum, Stubbs and the Horse is the first major exhibition in 20 years on George Stubbs (–), the great British painter of animals and outdoor life, and the first ever to focus on the central theme of his art, the horse.

A selection of some 40 paintings and 30 drawings and prints will show the remarkable range and variety of Stubbs’s images of the horse. Eight paintings by George Stubbs (–) have been lent to the Metropolitan Museum by the Yale Center for British Art, New Haven, while its Louis I.
